Mike’s new album – his first en français – is now available!

 le retour d’étienne brûlé is an original 12-song journey from 17th century Wendake/Huronia to 21st century Toronto.

Available now at Maple Music and iTunes.

The composition of this original French song-cycle was made possible by support from the Toronto Arts Council and The Canada Council for the Arts. The recording and production of “le retour d’étienne brûlé” was made possible by the Ontario Arts Council Chanson & Musique Program.

Flames Across the Border (The 1812 Song Project)

The 1812-1814 conflict comes alive in music and words with Mike Ford’s original songs about epic events (the invasion of Little York, Great Lake ship battles) famous characters (Tecumseh, Fitzgibbon) and unsung participants (farm-trampled settlers, deep woods couriers).  Made possible by support from The 1812 Commemoration Fund, Department of Canadian Heritage.

In late May of 2005 we were granted the incredible opportunity to spend two weeks aboard the MV Algoville. We sailed from Montreal to Thunder Bay and back along the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the majestic inland sea of the Great Lakes.
